The Building and Construction Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Regulation 2013 (the Regulation) is subordinate legislation made under the authority of the Building and Construction Industry (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 1991 (the Act).
The Regulation covers a range of matters required to ensure the ongoing efficient operation of the building and construction industry portable long service leave scheme, including:
- the combined levies payable
- the threshold that determines if building and construction work is within scope
- how the levy is calculated and paid, and
- other technical issues relevant to the scheme.
As the Regulation has been in operation for 10 years, the Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) is undertaking public consultation to identify if the regulation is performing as intended.
A Consultation Paper (PDF, 100kB) has been published that provides an overview of the coverage of the Regulation. OIR invites feedback from all interested parties about the operation of the Regulation.
Feedback will be used to inform policy development and provide an opportunity for stakeholders to provide their views on the operation of the Regulation.
